If you forget your online banking username or login password, you can click “Forgot username or password?” on the online banking login page to open the online application form. After verification, you can get the username or reset the online banking login password. Once reset, you can log in to online banking or mobile banking with your new password immediately. You can also fill in the Maintenance Form to reset your password at any UOB (China) Branch/Sub-branch providing Personal Financial Services.

UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking has a system that provides a high standard of security for banking over the Internet. This security system safeguards the confidentiality of your personal account information and banking transactions which employs:

  • Multiple levels of firewalls 
    Multiple levels of firewalls act as a barrier between the bank system and Internet to protect your account and personal information.
  • 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption
    128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is one of the strongest encryption technologies in the world for commercial purposes.
    All the data exchanged between you and the bank system will be encrypted to avoid information reveal.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (SMS-OTP)
    Two-Factor Authentication (SMS-OTP) provides an additional layer of security for verifying the identity of a UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking customer.
    Two-Factor Authentication (SMS-OTP) is required when you are performing the full access mode login, or submitting a high risk transaction.
  • Third Party transfer control
    Daily limit, total daily transaction number and annual cumulative limit controls.
    Extra safety questions (3FA) need to be passed in the execution of 3rd party transfers when exceeding the stipulated limit.
  • Timeout handling
    You will be logged out of your Internet banking session after a period of inactivity to ensure that your account and details are not compromised.
  • Account lock
    If unauthorized personnel intends to login your Personal Internet Banking account , the account will be locked right after several failed attempts. To unlock the account, please call the UOB (China) Hotline or visit UOB(China) branch/sub-branch for help.
  • Personal information privacy
    Keep confidential of your internet banking username and password is not compromised. Do remember the password, don’t write it down or disclose it to anyone. The bank staff will not request for your username or password for any reasons.
    You need to periodically modify your internet banking password. Password must be 8 to 24 characters without space. Your password is also case-sensitive and must be the combination of numeric and alphanumeric.

Who can use UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking?

To use UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking, you need to have at least one of the following accounts* with the UOB China:

  • Current Account
  • Savings Account
  • Time/Fixed Deposit
  • Investment Account (excluding QDII and UT)
  • Loan Account

*You would need to be either a personal or joint-alternate ('AND/OR') account holder. Note: Joint/And accounts with multiple signing conditions cannot be linked. 

No, UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking is currently a free service. However, charges apply for some transactions, such as remittance services.

You can only have one set of Username and Password.

Once you have selected your preferred UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking Username, you will not be able to change it. For security reasons, choose a Username which will not be easily known to a third party.

Yes, you can do so by selecting 'Customer Service' > 'Change Password' after you login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking. As a security measure, change your Password periodically. To learn more about safeguarding your password, please refer to our security recommendations. 

Your delinked UOB (China) Personal/Joint-OR account number will be displayed in UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking “Link Account” page.Note: Joint/And accounts with multiple signing conditions cannot be linked. 

Yes, you can do so if your joint account requires only one signature for the authorisation of transactions. Joint/And accounts with multiple signing conditions cannot be linked for online access.

When you successfully complete a transaction, you will be given a transaction reference number on-screen. This applies to all UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking transactions except 'Enquiries'. It is important that you wait for the transaction reference number to appear on your screen before you change screens or exit from UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking. Please take note of this transaction reference number for your future correspondences with the Bank.

Upon login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking, check that the website address at the top status bar of your browser changes from http:// to https:// and that a security icon (symbolised by a lock) appears at the bottom status bar of your browser. This indicates that the web page you are on is equipped with encryption technology. You can double click on the security icon to view information pertaining to the security certificate for the web page.

In this case, you will be able to login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking using your Username and Password to perform balance enquiries only. You will not have access to perform transactional activities.

UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking offers SMS-OTP authentication mode. SMS-OTP is a one-time password delivered to the mobile phone of a UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking customer. For this option, the customer's mobile phone number must be registered with the Bank.

Two-Factor Authentication allows the Bank to provide additional security to Internet Banking customers. It ensures that only authorized customers can gain access to account information and transact securely.

You are required to use the One-Time Password (OTP) when performing any of the following transactions: 

  1. Login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking. 
  2. Setting up Funds Transfer arrangement to third party UOB (China) accounts. 
  3. Setting up Funds Transfer arrangement to other banks. 
  4. Setting up Overseas Remittance arrangement.

In this case, you will be able to login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking using your Username and Password to perform balance enquiries only. You will not have access to perform transactional activities.

UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking employs 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which is internationally recognised as the highest standard in commercially available encryption technology. 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is adopted by banks in financial institutions worldwide. Your browser must support 128-bit encryption to enable your access to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking. To check your browser's encryption level, follow the steps below: 

Microsoft Internet Explorer 

  1. Select 'Help' from the Internet Explorer menu bar.
  2. Select 'About Internet Explorer' from the drop-down menu.
  3. The 'About Internet Explorer' dialog box will provide information on your browser version and encryption level. 

Firefox version 

  1. Select 'Help' from the Netscape menu bar. 
  2. Select 'About Mozilla Firefox' from the drop-down menu. 
  3. The 'About Mozilla Firefox' dialog box will provide information on your browser version.

To enable these features on your browser, follow these steps: 

For Internet Explorer: 

  1. In Internet Explorer, on the 'Tools' menu, click 'Internet Options'. 
  2. On the 'Privacy' tab, ensure that the slider is at the Medium security level. 
  3. Click the 'Advanced' tab. Scroll down. Ensure that either of the following is checked. 
  4. Under Java (IBM), 'Use Java 2... ‹ applet › (requires restart)' OR Under Java (Sun), 'Use JRE... ‹ applet › (requires restart)'. 
  5. Click 'OK' button to exit the dialogue box. 

For Mozilla Firefox: 

  1. In Firefox, on the 'Tools' menu, click 'Options'.
  2. Click on 'Content' tab and ensure that 'Enable Java' is checked. 
  3. Click 'OK' button to exist the dialogue box.

Aside from 128-bit SSL, UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking uses a Java applet for added security in encrypting your Password before it is transmitted to the Bank. Without being Java-enabled or having an updated JRE (Java Runtime Environment) in your browser, the applet will not work and you will not be able to login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking.

Launch your Internet browser.

Click "Tools" tab and select "Sun Java Console" from the menu. 

Check that JRE version is at least version 1.3.1 and higher.

Check that your browser settings comply with our recommendations. If JRE is outdated, corrupted or not installed in your system, you will not be able to enter your password for login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking. For example, you will not be able to move the blinking line cursor to the password field.

Please follow the steps below to install the latest version of JRE. 

  1. Go to www.java.com/getjava.
  2. Click "Free Java Download". The site will detect your browser/operating system and present a compatible Java program for download and installation.
  3. Click "Installation Instructions" if you require a step-by-step installation guide.
  4. To download the software, click "Free Java Download" and the installation process will start to run Once installation is completed, check version of JRE.
  5. Restart the browser and login to UOB (China) Personal Internet Banking.
